Can I put my prescription in any frame here?
Most of them, but not all. Very small lens heights, strongly wrapped fronts and rimless mounts each limit what can be glazed, and a strong prescription narrows it further. If you have your prescription to hand, send it with the frame you are looking at and we will tell you before you buy rather than after.
What is the difference between full rim, semi-rimless and rimless?
Full rim surrounds the lens completely and hides the lens edge, which suits stronger prescriptions. Semi-rimless holds the lens on a nylon cord along the bottom, so the frame is lighter and the lower edge is open. Rimless mounts the lens straight onto the bridge and temples — the lightest, and the most dependent on lens material.
How do I know what size to look for?
Read the three numbers off a frame you already wear and start within a couple of millimetres of them. Failing that, the widest part of the front should finish roughly level with the widest part of your face, and your pupils should sit near the centre of each lens rather than towards the inner edge.
Do you stock frames for progressive lenses?
Most of the full-rim range takes progressives. The number to watch is lens height — a shallow front leaves too little room for the reading portion at the bottom. We publish lens height on the frames we have it for, and it is worth checking before you fall for a very shallow rectangle.
